The Cycling House Staff Leaves Me

The Cycling House Staff have started the mass exodus south.  Owen and Brendan have already left and Sam, Emily, Andy, Anya, and Jess are soon to follow.  As the lone Missoulian to stick out the winter I feel like most Cycling House Guests.  You’re looking forward to your week in the Tucson Sun, but until then you’ve got to find something to keep you fit.

This time of year I’m usually trying to figure out my winter exercise plans, but with un-predictable weather I have been having trouble.  Here are my options:

Circuits at Momentum? Ouch.

Tuesday and Thursday is all I can take of Momentum's Circuit class.

Randonee Racing?  Looks hard.

Toby Meierbachtol hoofs it to the first summit of 3 in the Grand Targhee Randonee Race

Early Season Road Riding?  Maybe a bit too early for that.

Lindsy Campbell on an early spring ride last year. We are lucky enough to have rides starting in late Februrary.

Train for the OSCR ski race?  Perhaps some dirt skiing at Pattee Canyon.

The OSCR ski race is a Western Montana Classic. 50k of the hardest freestyle race in the country. The question is not whether or not you finish, but how hard you will bonk.

Trainer Rides with these two?  I can’t hang.

Northern Rockies Racing Team Captains Tamara Bessette and Nate Keck show they've got some skills beyond the bike.
