The Cascade Loop

The Cascade Loop is our newest fully supported tour.  It’s a loop, with indoor accommodations.  The Cascade Mountains offer stunning views, and challenging climbs.  However for this trip we’ll make sure everyone has plenty of time on and off the bike to really take in the area.  Below are the details.

Mountain Passes:

Stevens Pass – 6/14/15 – The first 2/3 of the climb are gradual, just ticking off the miles, however the last 4 miles is a stinger of 6% grade.  The cool part about this climb is the views improve with every passing mile.  Also, the summit is spectacular, and you get rewarded with a descent that is twice as long as your climb up.

Washington Pass – North Cascades Highway – 6/17/15 – This is another gradual climb with the 6 and 7% grades towards the top.  It’s long but totally do able.  The North Cascades Climb is extremely remote with no development.  It’s one of the top climbs in the US.  A hidden gem!

Other Highlights: Leavenworth, Chelan, and Winthrop are the best Cascade Mountain Towns.  Leavenworth is a Bavarian Paradise literally in the middle of the mountains.  It offers great hiking, shopping, and bars.  Chelan is a popular warm weather destination for people west of the mountains.  Lake Chelan is the go to water resort area in the Northwest.  Winthrop is perhaps the recreation capital of central Washington.  In the winter it’s endless skiing, and in the summer months it’s hiking and river sports.  The town is old west themed and a post ride tube float is mandatory.
