Garmin Edge Touring Plus

We ordered up a couple Garmin Edge Touring Pluses when they came available.  We received them about a month ago.  I’ve sold three now and one of those was for my dad.  I got to experiment with it.

Garmin designed this product for the European market, and so far it’s been a limited release in the states.  I’m excited about this product.  I use the Garmin stuff exclusively and if used right it’s great stuff.  My only criticism is having too many products.  Sometimes it’s hard to dumb things down to find out why you are spending more money for the “nicer” product.  The compare feature on the Garmin website has been good for that.

At $299.99 the Edge Touring Plus is a product to seriously consider.  The touring name is great but this is not just a product for the touring cyclist. Think of it as an easier to use Edge 800 or 810.  It works more like your traditional GPS unit with Points of Interest, simplified buttons, and maps already on your device.  It has your basic cycling stats including heart rate.

The price difference is because it doesn’t read power.

In Summary: If you like the mapping features of the 800/810 and you don’t need power buy the Edge Touring Plus.
