Our home base for this mountain bike trip is the quaint town of Whitefish, MT. Nestled in the Northwest corner of Montana among the magnificent Rocky Mountains, Whitefish offers a perfect blend of views, Montana backcountry, and flowing singletrack. We will stay at the Whitefish Bike Retreat on the outskirts of town, with singletrack right out the back door. The Whitefish Bike Retreat offers a wide array of amenities, and you can choose between indoor accommodations or camping under the Big Sky. This will be a home-based trip, that includes TCH chef-prepared meals. We will experience the local fare for a couple of dinners or lunches at some of our favorite restaurants. Evenings will be spent around the campfire reminiscing about the day’s ride, sipping local craft brews, and of course – eating a few s’mores.

The Flathead Valley, and Whitefish in particular, is quickly becoming a major destination for mountain bikers. The Whitefish Legacy Trail is a non-profit organization whose community-minded vision advocates conservation, recreation, and education for the lands around Whitefish. The Whitefish Trail has over 40 miles of trail, from buff singletrack to technical riding with built-in features. Whitefish Mountain Resort offers downhill lift service and flow trails, as well as cross-country trails with a view. Don’t be fooled though, Whitefish also has its fair share of rugged backcountry hand built trails. We will ride a few local favorites including Reid Divide, Bill Creek, Desert Mountain, and more. Whitefish has a perfect blend of beginner, moderate, and advanced trails. Check out TrailForks for more trail information.

The Food

About Cycling Vacations

One of our goals is to support the Whitefish community, which means working directly with the folks who source local and regional ingredients. You can count on clean, healthy, and exquisite food at any of our Montana Camps. This takes a little more time and preparation on our end, but it’s worth it when you’re enjoying a superb meal after a superb ride in the mountains. We prepare food specifically for endurance athletes, which means we focus on healthy, lean proteins, lots of leafy greens and root veggies, and plenty of flavorful side dishes. Our chefs make dishes from around the world that they’ve been inspired by, so each meal is diverse, interesting, and, above all else, delicious. We eat family-style, together at one big table. We’ve always enjoyed our meals this way and it’s had a profound impact on our camps. You can count on us to take care of breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and we accommodate all dietary preferences and restrictions.
