I was born in the late 70s and raised in the south-western part of Germany. I quickly discovered that my bike is equivalent to freedom. I rode to school, to see my friends, started mountain biking in the early 90’s, commuted to work, university, and basically everywhere I had to go. Having always been sensitive to the weather, I wished to live in a place with more sunshine, and I found it in Spain.
During my studies as a graphic designer, I did a student exchange in Valencia and enjoyed it a lot, so I started working in Girona after graduating.
That was back in 2007, and today, almost 20 years later, I still call this city home, only that I no longer work as a designer, but as a full-time bike guide and tour operator.
I share my life with my partner Silvia and our Spanish water dog, Meeko, and, apart from riding my bike and meeting new people, I like to cook and eat, and to travel in our camper van to discover new places in the sun together.
Thanks to our friend Steven Davis, I met Owen a few years ago in Girona, and since then, we have been working together. I am looking forward to welcoming you to the Girona and Pyrenees trips!

What's the best thing about working at The Cycling House?

The people! The beautiful personalities of all of them, guests and colleagues. The spirit in the team, the work ethics, the fun, laughters and interesting stories we share while riding our bikes in beautiful places or enjoying good food together, all this creates the warm feeling of being part of a caring family.

Do you have a favorite ride?

I don't think that for me there is this one favorite ride ... but probably I could generalize it in: "some quiet gravel roads in southern European mountain ranges". Also every ride on unknown roads, tracks and trails could be it. For me the appeal lies in the new.

What is the most memorable day you've had on the bike?

Well, it's not my biggest ride, nor the highest, or the one in the most exotic place, I would say it's the one, that was the beginning of my latest époque in live. When my work colleague Silvia, who is now my partner, asked me to join her on a local 3 day bike packing trip, and the mix of being there with her, on unknown, beautiful roads, with this deep happiness that lies within travelling by bike, on our way to a small mountain top hostel with incredible views on an early summer afternoon with the best weather you could wish for.
