Mallorca Tranquilo
A new take on an old favorite - Fewer miles and less climbing.Explore this Mediterranean cycling destination with a less elevation, miles, more small villages and plenty of Spanish culture.
We are excited to introduce a more relaxed itinerary with fewer miles and elevation.
The rugged island of Mallorca was a well-kept secret until professional cycling teams discovered it was the perfect winter training destination. It’s no surprise why cyclists are drawn to this Spanish paradise, given its temperate climates, European cultural influences, dramatic mountains, and breathtaking Mediterranean backdrop.
We are excited to offer a new itinerary to explore this magical island with less elevation and mileage. No matter the route, you’re guaranteed spectacular views and café stops for espresso, pastries, or traditional Spanish treats. Off the bike, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the local Mallorca culture and experience the region’s traditional food and wine.
Highlights
- Six days of guided, fully supported rides.
- Stay at The Petit Hotel Alaró in the quaint village of Alaró
- Eat chef-prepared, daily meals featuring Mallorca and Mediterranean cuisines.
- Wine tasting at a local vineyard.
- Swim in the Mediterranean Sea; three rides finish with optional swims and beach lunches.
Food
Everyone comes to Mallorca for cycling, but some of your favorite memories may be of the local food. Every morning starts with a casual breakfast and espresso before heading out on the day’s adventure. Our chef prepares Mallorquin and Mediterranean cuisine featuring authentic Spanish food, serving family-style dinner.Â
Accommodations
Set at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, The Petit Hotel Alaró has been our Mallorca base since 2018. Far from popular tourist spots, the small town of Alaró is quaint, with narrow cobbled streets and traditional Spanish charm. The proximity to the quiet countryside and beautiful mountain roads makes this bike- and hike-friendly hotel a fantastic home for the week. Settle in with a Spanish red wine in the flower-filled courtyard and indulge in authentic, chef-prepared meals.

Inner Island
We’ll go deeper into the countryside and explore some small villages of Mallorca, with a few small gradual climbs along the way. Our main daily stop will be Sineu for espresso, pastries, and a few laps on the Velodrome. After a cortado (small espresso with steamed milk) and pastry in Sineu, we make our way onto the Cami D’Muro, a small road turned into the main bike route across the island.
Today’s Ride: Inner Island
30 – 40 miles & 1,500 – 2,000′
Serra de Tramuntana to Cala Sant Vicenc
Today, we pedal to Cala Sant Vicenc, a beautiful Mediterranean beach. We start the ride from Petit Hotel Alaro, make our way over to the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, and head up the first Col of the day, Col De Sa Batallia. The climb is forested and is one of our personal favorites. After the climb, we only have a couple of kilometers uphill before enjoying one of the most magnificent descents on the island, the Col D Femina. The descent will take us to Pollenca, where we can stop for an espresso and pastry, and we will enjoy a few flat kilometers before heading towards Port Pollenca. We will end our ride with a picnic lunch and swim at the beach. We will shuttle by van home.
Today’s Ride: Cala Sant Vicenc
30 – 40 miles & 1,700′ – 2,700′
Eastern Coatal
The Eastern Coastal ride is a fabulous point-to-point ride that ends once again at a beautiful village with views of the Meditterean. We will reach the southernmost point in Mallorca and have views of Cabrera Island, which remains uninhabited and is a National Park. The route has undulating terrain with no significant climbs. After enjoying another coastal lunch, we will shuttle home by van.
Today’s Ride:Â
35- 52 miles & 1,000 – 1,500′
Randa
After a big day in the saddle, we’ll head out on a shorter ride with a relatively easy ride to Randa. Here, we will make a stop at a cafe to enjoy the beautiful village. If any guests are looking for an extra challenge, they climb up the monastery, which gains 1,000′ over 3 miles. We’ll enjoy a post-ride lunch at Cycling Planet in Alaro.
Today’s Ride: Randa
20 – 38 miles & 1,000 – 1,600′
Coastal
The Coastal route is a staff and guest favorite and the perfect ride to celebrate a fun week of pedaling in paradise. Today, we explore the Western coastline and take in some of the most dramatic views on the island. The contrast of blue and green between the Meditterean Sea and the Serra De Tramuntana mountains is nothing short of spectacular. We finish the ride at Sant Elm and enjoy our final lunch, looking out at the Sea before shuttling home to Alaro.Â

BIKE OPTIONS
Rent A Bike
Traveling through the airport with a bike—and paying for it to fly—is not everyone’s idea of a fun way to start a vacation. Fortunately, we offer high-quality, full carbon bikes on all of our trips across the United States and Europe. Want to just show up and ride? Just bring your shoes, pedals, helmet, and saddle (if you want), and rent one of ours.
Bring Your Own
Your bike is yours—we get it. Bringing your own bike has obvious advantages in terms of individual comfort. Before your trip, we suggest getting a tune-up at your local bike shop so it’s ready to roll for your week of riding. Once you arrive, we’ll be sure to have our mechanics build it and help with any necessary tweaks. Check out some helpful resources here:
Skip The Bike
If you or your travel partner want to enjoy the trip and explore a new destination without a bike, drop us a line and we’ll discuss options. Some trips are better suited for non-rider participants than others.
