A Montana-Born Cycling Experience Like No Other

History of The Cycling House

Founded in 2005 in the heart of Montana, The Cycling House was born from a simple idea: blend high-quality cycling with the comfort and camaraderie of a home-away-from-home experience. What began as a winter training escape for cyclists has evolved into one of the most respected adventure cycling companies in the country, rooted in community, authentic hospitality, and a passion for exploring the most scenic corners of North America—starting with our backyard: Montana.

What Sets Us Apart

Unlike typical bike tour operators, The Cycling House isn’t just a business—it’s a lifestyle built by cyclists, for cyclists. Our team lives and rides in Montana. We host every trip ourselves, cook your meals from scratch, and make every camp feel like you’re part of the family. You’ll ride, relax, and recover in comfort, fueled by chef-prepared meals and supported by passionate guides who know the roads—and gravel—like the back of their hands.

Montana: A Bucket List Destination

Why Montana? It’s more than the epic climbs and wide-open landscapes. Known as the “Crown of the Continent,” Montana is home to one of the most biodiverse ecosystems in North America, where grizzlies, elk, and bald eagles still roam free.

Its beauty is raw and unfiltered—glacial peaks, rushing rivers, golden plains. It’s a place steeped in Native American history, frontier heritage, and wild spaces that stir the soul. Whether you’re cresting a mountain pass or soaking in a quiet moment under the big sky, Montana changes you.

Signature Montana Trips

Montana is our home, and it’s where our heart is. Owen Gue, founder and president of TCH, was born and raised in Montana. Many of our staff started their passion for cycling here, and sharing this amazing state with others fills our hearts. We’ve crafted a collection of cycling experiences that showcase the best this wild, stunning state has to offer:

🚴 Glacier National Park

Ride the legendary Going-to-the-Sun Road, pedaling through alpine meadows and past turquoise lakes. This route is the jewel of the Northern Rockies, with views you’ll remember for a lifetime. This trip packs nearly every paved road in Glacier into one trip and gets you up close and personal with one of America’s most beautiful National Parks.

🚴 Glacier to Yellowstone & Yellowstone to Glacier

Experience two national treasures in one trip. These point-to-point journeys traverse rugged mountains, remote valleys, and winding rivers, including the iconic Beartooth Pass, often called the most beautiful highway in America. It’s a road cyclist’s dream—and a bucket list must. This is one of of our most challenging trips and brings guests to the most Northern and Southern reaches of Montana and dips into Wyoming.

🚴 Montana Gravel: Luxury Ranch & Summer Camp

Leave the pavement behind and ride Montana’s pristine gravel backroads. Our Luxury Ranch experience pairs challenging routes with high-end accommodations, while our Gravel Summer Camp is for those who want to push hard, ride far, and relive the joy of summer camp, relax lakeside post-ride.

Food, Friends & Chef-Prepared Fuel

Each trip is fully supported and features chef-prepared meals using local, seasonal ingredients. Whether it’s a hearty breakfast before a big climb or a recovery dinner under the stars, we make food part of the adventure—not just fuel.
