2013 HED Wheels will be available to order on The Cycling House Store starting November 1st.
Vanguish – HED’s new carbon clincher. Un-like the Jets the Vanguish is a full carbon rim instead of a fairing. 26mm C2 rim with SCT Technology. HED took their time with this product. Just like the Jets in 2007, they wanted to get it right. I believe this is a can’t miss wheel for 2013.
Ardennes – The FR, SL, LT, and CL are back with the same top notch construction. The big change is the Ardennes FR disc. The cyclocrosser in me is super excited to see HED on the forefront of this switch. Bike manufactures at a minimum have one disc cross bike in the line, wheel companies need to start following the lead. At around 1600 grams it’s still relatively light.
Jets – The 4, 5 express, 6, 7 express, and 9s. I really like the idea of the 5 express and 7 express. They are more affordable and deliver the same top performance. The Jet 6 was our second most popular product. The reason being was it’s versatility, performance, and affordability within it’s competitors. This year I predict the Jet 7 Express will be the hot ticket for 2013. It’s perfect for triathlon, and the price tag is a bit cheaper then the Jet 6.
Stinger – The 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9. The coolest HED wheel is back. Although some pros chose the Jet over the Stinger in certain situations….the Stinger is still the high end choice of most top athletes. It’s the same as 2012 except HED has introduced the Stinger 5 Disc. A high end cyclocross wheel that is going to blow your mind. I’ve sold one pair already and I’m super excited about the possibilities. HED has been a secret weapon for cross racers with the Ardennes Tubulars being a very solid setup. Now with the Ardennes FR disc and the Stinger 5 disc, they are showing their commitment to cross.
Disc and H3 – The same as 2012. The Jet Disc and Disc FR are back. So is the Stinger Disc, H3, and H3D.
