We feel lucky at The Cycling House to have Glacier National Park as our backyard. Riding the iconic, Going to the Sun road is a once in a lifetime event for most, but only a short drive away from Cycling House headquarters. In 2014 we incorporated Glacier National Park into our trip destinations with the creation of The Glacier Loop. Since we have added others and made some tweaks to our original route. Experiencing Glacier National Park by bike should be on your bucket list.
In 1932, the United States and Canada created the world’s first International Peace Park; joining Glacier National Park and Waterton Lakes National Park as Glacier International Peace Park. On December 6th, 1995 the park was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The land encompassed in Glacier Internal Park is an integral part of the Crown of the Continent; which is one of two intact ecosystems that remain in the lower 48. The Crown of the Continent is the spine of North America and water flows to the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. The terrain is rugged, wild and beautiful. Grizzly Bears, Elk, Moose, Wolverine, Wolves and many other animals still call this home. Experiencing the park by bike is an amazing opportunity for cyclists. We have a few summer trips that enter Glacier National Park including; Glacier to Yellowstone and our Glacier Tour.
Our two summer trips for 2017 offer two unique opportunities to see Glacier National Park. The first; Glacier to Yellowstone, will be held July 24- July 30th 2017. The trip is unique because it will be a point to point tour with camping accommodations (every night has showers:). The journey between the two national parks is nothing short of epic. Big miles under the Big Sky with some amazing campfire gourmet meals along the way. Check out some more details for this trip here.
