Top 5 Olympic Announcers

I watched alot of Olympics.  Probably too much, but here are my favorite announcers from the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

5.  Ato Boldin – Track and Field

Honest, up front and knowledgable.  Boldin brings the heat and is wonderful at using a few words but providing emphasis.  This skill is necessary when the races last 9 seconds

4. Tom Hammond – Track and Field

Tom and Ato as a combo is one of the best in any sport.  Tom calls track and field to perfection.

3. Tim Dagget – Gymnastics

Literally think about watching gymnastics without Dagget.  No one would know what’s going on.  He has to explain the scoring and set the tone.  NBC should show him a ton of love.  He’s turned gymnastics into can’t miss television.

2. Rowdy Gaines – Swimming

Just like Dagget, without Rowdy swimming would be nothing.  I also like his technical insight.  It’s not over my head as a non swimmer and I find it interesting.

1. Mike Emrick – Water Polo

I haven’t watched much hockey in my life, but this guy is the best in the business.  For the Olympics he covered Water Polo and did not disappoint.  Check this guy out.
