Time flies when you are having fun and the end of the season at The Cycling House slipped by. We had an incredibly successful end of the season with some new and old faces inhabiting The Cycling House. In our last weeks we had some great help from Anya Weschler, Shaun Radley (TCH store manager), Ben Horan, Spencer Martin and Andy Schultz. The extra hands were awesome to have and the weather made for some great spring cycling!
The end of the year at The Cycling House is always bittersweet but sad at the same time. The Sanorian Desert in Tucson offers a beautiful setting and spring offers some great desert flowers. The bittersweet part is that the temperatures started to soar into the 90’s and the trip back to Montana was sounding pretty darn good. In our last week Kipp, Drew, Owen and I worked hard to clean up the house and hit the road towards Montana. I hopped on a plane for Montana to race the Montana World Championships, The Grizzly Triathlon. The big W was once again elusive but my 3rd place was a surprise after being laid up with an injury for several weeks. Shortly after returning to Montana it was time to hit the road for a 1 month trip to Europe. Owen, Zander and I packed our bags and headed for to Mallorca, Spain for a 1 week camp. Mallorca is off the coast of Spain and offers some of the best cycling in the world! After Mallorca we head to Italy for 2 weeks of camps and in mid June we will be back in Montana for the summer.
We have a great training opportunity in Madison, Wisconsin with coach Jim Bruskewitz and your truly (Brendan Halpin) from June 4- June 10th. We still have a couple spots remaining for the camp so let us know if you are interested. It is a great opportunity to see the Ironman Wisconsin course or training for the Horrible Hilly 100 or any of your other upcoming races. We will have plenty of opportunities to swim, bike and run and there is even a triathlon in Madison on June 10th called the Capitol Triathlon.
