I was racing the Speed Wagon Classic last week. This is one of the best races in our region. It’s a mix of dirt, pavement, climbing, and potluck.
At mile 40 my day came to a sudden halt. I rode into some clay and my rear derailuer broke beyond repair. A support truck with a friendly face and a Kuat NV bike rack picked me up. Although we sell these, I use the Kuat Alpha. I’ve never been a huge fan of the rear rack with bikes hanging on the top tube. The bikes smash into eachother, and wheels are moving constantly. The Kuat NV was fantastic. Wheels and all you just set the bike up there lift the hook and your done. By races end we had 7 riders in the truck over rough terrain. The bikes were super secure.
Yesterday I went riding with another friend. She volunteered to drive. I walked over to her car and noticed the Kuat NV! She hadn’t even used it yet. We just put the bikes on, no bungee cords, no rattling. After these past two experiences, I’m a firm believer.
If your looking for a rack the Kuat NV is the best I’ve seen.
