ITINERARIES

Day 1

Introduction to the Magical Pyrenees

We’ll start the tour with a 10:30am pickup at the Girona Train Station. For those flying into Barcelona (BCN), we’ll provide details on how to get to Girona. While we don’t offer a shuttle from Barcelona, it’s easy to take a train, taxi, or private car.

After the pickup in Girona, we’ll shuttle our guests to our first home base in Camprodon. Once there, we’ll help everyone settle into their rooms. Our mechanics will get to work assembling bikes, and guests who rent bikes can get fitted after lunch.

Our arrival spin will take us around the Camprodon Valley, where we’ll take our first pedal strokes in the beautiful countryside. After the ride, guests can unwind before our welcome briefing and dinner.

Shuttle Pickup: 10:30am, Girona Train Station. Guests can expect a ~1.5 hour shuttle.

Today’s Ride: Arrival Spin

~2 hours with about 1500′ climbing

Surfaces: road and gravel

Day 2

Vallter Gravel Loop

You’ll earn the beautiful views on today’s challenging ride. The main route takes us on a climb up to the iconic Vallter 2000 mountain. Before reaching the summit, we’ll turn off onto an amazing, secluded gravel section, starting our loop back to our home base in Camprodon. On this route, you’ll ride part of Vallter 2000 and also summit Coll de Pera and Todo Des Pujals.

For those looking for an extra challenge, the long route option will take you all the way to the top of Vallter 2000 before completing the gravel loop. This option adds 11 miles and 2,300 feet of climbing.

Today’s Ride: Vallter Gravel Loop

Main Route: 31 miles, 3950′ climbing

Long Route: 41 miles, 6300′ climbing

Surfaces: 50/50 gravel and road

Day 3

Queen Stage of Camprodon

Our final day in Camprodon is remote with stunning surroundings. We’ll traverse three different mountain passes, but the highlight and challenge of the day will be the main gravel section: 16 miles with 3,100 feet of climbing.

This gravel section is stunning and remote, taking us into the heart of the Pyrenees and along less-traveled paths. All riders need to be prepared for this challenging day, but we know it will be worth it.

Shorter Route Option: For those seeking a shorter ride, we can shuttle you to the top of Coll Burgares or even further down the road if needed.

Today’s Ride:

Main Route: 50 miles, 7100’ climbing

Shorter Route Option: For those seeking a shorter ride, we can shuttle you to the top of Coll Burgares or even further down the road if needed.

Though this day has only 16 of the miles on gravel, we believe the majority of our ride time will be spent on this gravel section due to the slower pace on the gravel.

Surfaces: road and gravel

Day 4

Camprodon to La Pobla de Lillet

Today, we’ll ride our bikes to our next home base. This entire day is on the road and it’s an incredible route that we know our guests will enjoy. For those looking to keep the ride shorter and more direct, you can skip the last climb and finish directly in the village.

La Pobla de Lillet is a small, charming village and our quaint hotel is right in the center. While it can be a bit tight to navigate in and out, we believe it’s worth it!

Today’s Ride:

Main Route: 40 miles, 4300′ of climbing

Shorter/More Direct Route: 33 miles, 3100′ climbing

Surface: 100% road

Day 5

Our hotel has a spa, so you can relax in the hot tub and sauna or schedule a massage. There are also many hiking trails right out of town for those who’d like to stretch their legs.

On the Bike: For those wanting to ride, there are several route options ranging from 10-20+ miles and 1,500-3,000 feet of climbing. We’ll explain all the options to ensure everyone can find what they’re looking for.

Being Prepared

Tire notes and gearing: Given our routes include both gravel and road terrain, we recommend a versatile tire that’s good on and off the road. We suggest a minimum of 38c, ideally 40c or larger. The Panaracer Gravel King SK, Specialized Pathfinder Pro, or Pirelli Cinturato Gravel H are all good tire choices. Feel free to call or email with questions.

If you are bringing your own bike, ensure it is equipped with suitable climbing gear and a tire capable of handling a mix of gravel and road conditions.

This trip will be both challenging and rewarding. Our days in the Pyrenees feature significant climbing and varied gravel conditions, from smooth to rugged terrain with steep grades. We venture off the beaten path, exploring less-maintained roads for a unique experience. Riders should be prepared for unpredictable mountain weather and diverse riding challenges outlined in the itinerary below.
