Accommodations
This is a point-to-point journey featuring four distinct and memorable accommodations along the way. We begin in St. George, Utah, where all guests are picked up before a scenic three-and-a-half-hour shuttle to Capitol Reef Resort. We kick the trip off here and stay for one night. From there, the route continues to Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch, where we’ll settle in for two nights surrounded by high desert and alpine terrain. Next, we spend one night at the iconic Bryce Canyon Lodge, located on the edge of Bryce Canyon National Park, offering unmatched access to sunrise and sunset views. The trip concludes with two nights near Zion National Park, where we’ll stay in a private vacation rental, perfectly positioned to explore the region’s towering cliffs and canyon roads before our journey comes to an end.
ITINERARIES
Utah Road Tour - 6 Nights
Capitol Reef to Boulder
This ride delivers one of Utah’s most striking transitions, from red-rock desert to cool alpine forest. Leaving Capitol Reef, we pedal through towering sandstone cliffs and open canyon views before beginning the steady climb up Boulder Mountain.
As elevation increases, the landscape shifts from pine and spruce to groves of Pando aspens, their leaves shimmering and changing color with the seasons. Expansive viewpoints reveal slickrock canyons and distant plateaus, making the climb as rewarding as the finish.
We roll into the mountain town of Boulder after a beautiful descent, completing a ride defined by contrast, color, and unforgettable scenery.
36 – 46 miles & 3,500 – 5,000′
Burr Trail
The Burr Trail is a stunning journey through some of Utah’s most remote and dramatic terrain. The route winds through towering red rock canyons, colorful slickrock, and wide open desert, with constant views that feel both rugged and untouched. A mix of smooth pavement and quiet gravel, this ride delivers a true sense of adventure and showcases the raw beauty of Grand Staircase–Escalante.
45 – 74 miles & 3,000 – 6,700′
Boulder to Escalante
This ride encapsulates a classic Southwestern landscape, defined by reds, greens, whites, and striking purple rock formations. It traces one of Utah’s most spectacular backroads, climbing out of Boulder and onto the narrow spine of Hell’s Backbone. Open, expansive views stretch in every direction, with sheer drop-offs and rugged canyons adding drama to the route. The descent into Escalante reveals sweeping vistas of slickrock and desert mesas, making this ride a memorable blend of mountain solitude and red rock beauty.
28-38 miles & 2,000 – 3,000′
Bryce Canyon
This ride showcases the otherworldly beauty of Bryce Canyon, weaving through high-elevation forest before opening to sweeping viewpoints of towering hoodoos and amphitheaters carved in vivid shades of orange and red. Cool mountain air and rolling terrain make for an enjoyable rhythm, while frequent overlooks invite you to pause and take it all in. It’s a ride defined by elevation, color, and some of the most unique scenery in the American Southwest.
35 – 53 miles & 2,000 – 3,300′
Zion
Riding through Zion is a truly iconic experience. The route follows the canyon floor beneath massive sandstone walls that rise thousands of feet overhead, with the Virgin River flowing alongside the road. Smooth pavement and gentle grades allow you to fully absorb the scenery. Quiet, car-free sections make this ride feel immersive and peaceful, offering an unforgettable way to experience one of the most dramatic landscapes in the country.

BIKE OPTIONS
Rent A Bike
Traveling through the airport with a bike—and paying for it to fly—is not everyone’s idea of a fun way to start a vacation. Fortunately, we offer high-quality, full carbon bikes on all of our trips across the United States and Europe. Want to just show up and ride? Just bring your shoes, pedals, helmet, and saddle (if you want), and rent one of ours.
Bring Your Own
Your bike is yours—we get it. Bringing your own bike has obvious advantages in terms of individual comfort. Before your trip, we suggest getting a tune-up at your local bike shop so it’s ready to roll for your week of riding. Once you arrive, we’ll be sure to have our mechanics build it and help with any necessary tweaks. Check out some helpful resources here:
Skip The Bike
If you or your travel partner want to enjoy the trip and explore a new destination without a bike, drop us a line and we’ll discuss options. Some trips are better suited for non-rider participants than others.
