The Cycling House is pleased and proud to be able to offer a scholarship each year to a motivated cyclist or triathlete even if he or she doesn’t necessarily have the means. The winner or the scholarship receives a free spot at one of our Tucson Training Camps, free travel to/from the camp, and a free bike rental.
We consider this a valuable opportunity, and we take the application process seriously. We always have a great round of candidates to choose from and feel honored to give our scholarship to a well-deserving entrant.
Congrats to our 2016 Cycling House Scholarship Winner, Kennett Peterson. Kennett is a 29 year old cyclist and triathlete hailing from Boulder, Co. After racing bikes professionally in Europe, Kennett switched to Triathlon in 2015 after his wife, also a triathlete, was hit by a car and he wanted to support her recovery. In May of 2015 he came in 1st amateur at the St. George 70.3 (his first triathlon!), which meant he qualified as a professional for his next race. Six weeks later, Kennett raced as a pro in the Boulder 70.3 and came in 9th. He was hooked on the sport of triathlon.
Welcome to the Cycling House family, Kennett! We can’t wait to watch you grow!
