Cycling House Campers Racing Fast

TCH Campers have been racing hard and fast lately. Tina Brubaker is one of our featured athletes today.

“Tina Brubaker Throwing Down”

Tina has been tearing up the Oregon racing scene ever since she first visited TCH in the 05/06 season.  Residing in Salem, OR, Tina is well immersed in the mountain, road, and cyclo-cross scene.  Known for her ridiculous cyclo-cross Halloween outfits (to show a picture would be too spicy for this publication), powerful leadouts, and high pain tolerance, she’s definitely an integral part of the TCH.

Liz Wilson finishes her first Ironman!

TCH veteran, Liz Wilson, can now cross off the list one of her longest standing goals: to finish an IRONMAN.  She accomplished this mission at Couer d’Alene IM in June.  Here is what Liz wrote to TCH:  “I am an IRONMAN! It was simply an amazing experience and I truly enjoyed my day. The weather was beautiful, the scenery outstanding. I could feel you cheering me along my way; I could feel you right there with me! There was never a moment when I thought I wouldn’t finish; your support was wonderful.  I finished with a smile. No one gets to the starting line of an Ironman on their own…that is true of the finish line as well. Thank you for being a part of my journey to the finish line!”

Amy Rappaport: Sharpening the blade

Amy found out pretty quickly that New York isn’t the most receptive environment for training full time for a triathlon.  That’s why she spent some quality time with us this last winter in Tucson.  It paid off.  On June 1st, Amy won her age group in the Black Bear Half.  Then in Auburn, CA she won the Duathlon National Championships for her age group!  She has been considering these as “training races” to get her tuned up for Ironman Lake Placid.  I’d say she’s on the right track. We were able to get Amy hooked up with a new Saris Cycleops Powertap Pro to use while she was training and she is also a huge fan of the Garmin Forerunner 405. Nice work Amy and good luck in IMLP!

Great training for women at The Cycling House
