Moab – Durango – Breckenridge Firecracker 50 – Sam 2nd place!

The Cycling House Rocky Mountain Road Trip is underway and it's been a great trip so far. The first stop was Moab, UT for an epic ride from the top of the La Sals at 11,000+ feet down to the Colorado River. The next stop was Durango, CO with local boy Andy Schultz playing tour guide.

The La Sal mountains just outside of Moab, UT are absolutely amazing.

We are currently in Breckenridge, CO preparing to cheer at the Firecracker 50. This race is the US Marathon National Championship so there is quite a bit on the line here.  Sam Schultz is flying right now and will be gunning for the win. Also, Andy Schultz was 2nd at this race two years ago so he knows how to race this course.  There is a solid MT crew racing this event which includes a stacked Hammer Nutrition team: Dustin Phillips, Phil Grove and Matt Butterfield. MT Cyclocross represented by Shaun Radley.

UPDATE!!!!

Sam gets second at the Firecracker 50 in Breckenridge. It was a brutal day of racing but sam dug deep and took second overall at this truly epic race. Sam’s teammate JHK took the win for the second time in a row and has proven that he is the best in the country at the longer cross country races. Congrats to the Trek/Subaru team for a huge 1-2!
