Stella Holt

Born and raised in Whitefish, MT, Stella developed a strong connection to the outdoors through countless hours of training for competitive cross-country skiing. Her skiing career took her to national and international competitions and eventually to Middlebury College in Vermont. She earned a degree in Film and Media from the liberal arts school and returned to Whitefish to regrow her roots. Stepping back from ski racing, Stella found a second love in cycling, both on road and trail. She currently lives in Whitefish, Montana and co-owns Great Northern Cycle & Ski, coaches the local junior ski race team, and guides Cycling House trips whenever she can.

What is the best thing about working at The Cycling House?

The places I see and the people I engage with while on Cycling House trips make for invaluable experiences that I continue to weave into my daily life remembering stories, rides, challenges and always fueling the fire for more.

Do you have a favorite ride?

I love the ride to Jalama Beach on our Solvang Trip. Rolling terrain and head or tailwinds always make for a rewarding day!

What is the most memorable day you’ve ever had on the bike?

I’ve had some fantastic times descending The Whole Enchilada in Moab, Utah on my mountain bike; pushing through thick mud on my road bike during the Hell Ride in Missoula, MT; or just finding the legs to keep up on our weekly Wednesday Night Worlds group ride from shop in Whitefish (Great Northern Cycling and Ski).
