Top 10 Reasons to Love Glacier National Park

The holiday season is ramping up, we are enjoying some snowy adventures, and we can’t help but look back with gratitude on an incredible 2023. We would be remiss if we didn’t highlight a few of our favorite trip memories.

One trip that can’t be missed is our Glacier National Park trip. During this tour of Glacier National Park, you’ll experience some of the area’s best routes.

We wanted to share our top 10 reasons why we love cycling in Glacier National Park.

10. Home sweet home. The Cycling House crew calls Montana home, and we love to show off our breathtaking backyard.

9. Bike the iconic Going-to-the-Sun Road. Going-to-the-Sun Road is a true bucket-list ride, surrounded by dramatic views of u-shaped valleys, mountain lakes, and waterfalls. No matter how often you return to this special part of Montana, you’ll discover something different and uniquely beautiful each time.

8. Huckleberry ice cream. The huckleberry is the state fruit of Montana, meaning no summer trip to Glacier is complete without enjoying a big ol’ huckleberry ice cream cone after a big day in the saddle.

7. Five-star food. Throughout the week, you’ll eat a combination of Cycling House chef-prepared food and meals at our favorite local restaurants. We source as much local food as possible, stopping at farmer’s markets and working with a farm in the Flathead Valley to provide our dairy. Our bread and pastries are baked fresh at Le Petit Outre in Missoula, and we provide an abundance of beer from Missoula’s Big Sky Brewing Company.

6. Montana lodging at its finest. You won’t have to worry about getting a good night’s sleep under the Big Sky. On our journey through rural Montana, we’ll stay in a mix of lodges and hotels. We hand-pick accommodations that provide scenery as well as authentic & welcoming hospitality.

5. Mother Nature’s swimming pool. Head back home and brag to your friends about how you got to cool off in some of the most scenic (and potentially coldest!) swimming holes you’ve ever seen. Staff & guests can be heard whooping and hollering as they throw cannonballs into the Middlefork of the Flathead River, Lake McDonald, and Two Medicine Lake.

4. It’s all included. We will have you covered from start to finish, including the bear spray (we’re serious!). Lodging, fully supported rides, professional guides, SAG, meals, ride nutrition, airport & hotel shuttles, mechanical support, photos, and even freshly baked cookies. We’ve got your back.

3. Skip the bike and go for a hike! There’s something for everyone in Glacier National Park. Let our team help you and your crew get the most out of your summer vacation. We can provide alternate recommendations for those who want to ride a bit less (or more!) and provide exploratory missions outside of just riding.

2. Those views. We will never get sick of the oooh’s and aaah’s we hear during this week of riding. Filled with memorable scenery, no bad views exist on this route. Come check out paradise and be prepared to be inspired by the scenic mountains, picturesque lakes, and the three Ws: wildlife, waterfalls, and wildflowers.

1. Something about that Big Sky. It’s time to unplug for a week and soak up what is known as Big Sky country. Words can’t explain what spending a week amongst towering mountains, bonding with like-minded people, and witnessing the expansive Montana Big Sky will do for the soul. You’ll need to see for yourself! “Escape to the mountains of Montana, and let yourself be free.”

We hope you can join us in Glacier National Park; it’s the trip of a lifetime!
